IPBCC - to cease from Oct. 17

To coincide with the repeal of the liner conference exemption in European Commission Regulation 4056/86, the India Pakistan Bangladesh Ceylon Conference (IPBCC) has announced termination of operations with effect from October 17.
Accordingly, the conference tariff and all other existing IPBCC arrangements will cease to be in operation from October 18.
Founded in 1875, initially as the ‘Calcutta Steam Traffic Conference’, the IPBCC is generally considered to be the oldest shipping conference in the world.
Its current members are: ANL Singapore Pte Ltd, CMA CGM, CSAV Norasia, Hamburg Süd, Hapag-Lloyd, "K" Line, Maersk Line, MISC Berhad, Rickmers-Linie, Safmarine, SCI, UASC, Yang Ming Line and Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd.
